No. 3 Nariño Prelude.
If you loose these moments of effervescence and heat, if you leave this unique and blissful chance, in about twelve hours, you will be treated as insurgents: See you compatriots, cells, grills and chains waiting for you.
José Acevedo y Gómez (1773-1817)
Central crier:
Oh you, glorious republic of Nueva Granada,
Here I am the crier of the nation,
Born in this sovereign and huge country,
White pants, blue uniform and epaulet dressed.
I’ve came to announce with passion, you escutcheons
People from Spain Kingdom, oppressors of Free America, the next words:
Nueva Granada, noble territory is our.
You have lost rights under this nation.
Oh you marvelous Antonio, who brought us world human rights,
We say thanks to you, by fighting for hold our right to be free and sovereign
And of course feel ourselves not slaves of the ambitious empire.
Government house must have your name.
A couple of centuries were dominated by Spanish Crown,
And now it’s our time to offer prosperity to this beautiful nation,
We, central power, must govern proudly our dear republic
And our guide and inspirer must be Nariño, God bless Nariño.
Central ideology frankly, means equality for people,
We are the fraternity between provinces and their habitants.
No matter, if Federalists believe they can do it better
And never mind if we receive the rejection of alleys of Spanish men.
I tell you: “Cundinamarca, condor land, is a nation, is a state,
And it’s a law, where all this summarized, is the progress.
Colonialism is a failure that we have buried for ever,
And we won’t accept separatist power.
The beginning of the emancipation
Was when brave brothers Morales began revolution,
That’s why; we have rights on our sacred land
Who we protect with our blood against tyrants and traitors.
Choir:
Cundinamarca, condor land, is a nation, is a state,
And it’s a law, where all this summarized, is the progress.
