ROMANTIC REVOLUTION (English version of Revolucion Romantica)

This is a Collection of poems, an anthology in other words where I want to set my poetic ego free, through real or imaginary experiences. Term “romantic” not only means being lover, but it means being passionate, rebel, liberal and creative.

No. 1 Pastoral Awakening

Like escaping from purgatory to heaven,
I woke up full of happiness and energy, one morning.
Icy night is gone now, sunshine is here,
I’m hearing the sound of the bells.

Dad dressed as a party,
green meadows were the atmosphere in my room,
he politely invited some cows commanded by a noble bull,
and then, he made pleasant the celebration with a pastoral song.

Pastoral song by the impatient but emotional Ludwig,
is streaming into my soul like a quiet rivulet.
Euphoric heart, you make me big, yes
despite being just a little kid.

I imagined dancing in circles with those majesty ruminants
drinking a lot of cool wine, celebrating be alive,
and suddenly, you, little brown haired girl appeared,
With graceful eyes, I feel like dying and then come alive.

You, little girl and me may have a restless and sincere heart
No matter if we just are both children of mom and dad.
Father, thanks for the party, for the fabulous music,
Which it soars my heart and my soul.

In memoriam of Javier Ponce Sandoval (1951-1995). This month is his 60th birthday. He taught me about classical music and literature. This work was inspired in a morning in Barranquilla when I was 7 years old, I woke up listening Pastorale Symphony by Ludwig Van Beethoven and in that moment, it emerged my love for Beethoven music and generally classical music. I remembered a little girl from the school named Andrea; I was fall in love of her then. Finally, I thought in the green meadows from the Andean Mountains of departments of Cundinamarca and Boyacá in Colombia.
Dedicated to Andrea.
